Compact MRS system for direct non-invasive groundwater detection to 50 m depth
The NUMIS Lite is a Magnetic Resonance Sounding (MRS) system that directly detects and quantifies groundwater without the need for boreholes, measuring water content and pore-size-related permeability from the surface to 50 m depth. Powered by two external 12 V batteries, the system consists of a DC/DC converter-tuning unit and a transmitter-receiver unit, both controlled from a PC for data acquisition, processing, and interpretation. As the only non-invasive geophysical method that directly responds to liquid water, MRS provides unambiguous aquifer characterization where other electrical methods provide only indirect information.
