Portable uniaxial tester for on-site rock strength determination
The OYO Point Load Tester is a compact hydraulic instrument that determines rock strength by recording the failure pressure when a specimen is loaded between two conical platens. Two Bourdon-tube pressure gauges (5 MPa and 70 MPa) are provided as standard to cover both weak and hard rock specimens, and an integrated scale allows direct specimen size measurement at the moment of testing. The lightweight design and self-contained hydraulic pump enable a single operator to perform tests quickly on core or lump specimens directly at the borehole site.
