Sonic Viewer 2i
High-precision ultrasonic system for P-wave and S-wave velocity of rock specimens
The Sonic Viewer 2i measures the ultrasonic propagation time through boring cores and rock specimens with high accuracy, enabling direct calculation of P-wave velocity, S-wave velocity, dynamic Poisson's ratio, dynamic elastic modulus, and dynamic shear modulus. A high-voltage transmitter (600 V, 6 μs pulse) drives the transmitter transducer while a 16-bit, ultra-high-speed A/D converter captures the received waveform, which is displayed on a 10.1-inch touch-screen tablet for on-screen travel-time picking. A digital stacking function improves signal-to-noise ratio on low-amplitude waveforms.
