The G-857 is an entry-level proton precession magnetometer designed for accessible, accurate total-field magnetic measurements in a wide range of exploration and environmental applications. Its single-keystroke operation makes it suitable for non-technical field personnel and academic settings, while the proton precession measurement principle ensures readings are essentially independent of sensor orientation, temperature, and geographic location. An automated cycling mode with external power connection allows the G-857 to serve as a base station for monitoring diurnal variations in the Earth's magnetic field.
