MetalMapper 2x2
Advanced electromagnetic geophysical classifier for accurate UXO discrimination from metallic clutter
The MetalMapper 2x2 is a commercial Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) instrument developed in partnership with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), designed to discriminate buried unexploded ordnance (UXO) from scrap metal with high confidence. Acquiring high dynamic range, wide bandwidth, and multi-component electromagnetic data in both dynamic and cued survey modes, it accurately determines the position, depth, and orientation of buried metallic objects — dramatically reducing costly and unnecessary excavation of benign scrap. The ruggedized platform can be pushed on a wheeled cart or towed by a vehicle, making it adaptable to both reconnaissance and focused identification tasks.
